The Old School / New School studio led by Charlotte Von Moos  was  a model-based studio that studied the concept of educational facilities as a piece of social infrastructure. This project explores the concept of designing a school as a tower in order to preserve the site  for a public park for the Miami neighborhood of Overtown.  The design of the school was explored through a series of large-scale models. These models pushed the development of views throughout the school; both interior and exterior, and influenced design decisions at the large-scale (program layout, facade details, etc.) and small (classroom layouts, greenery).
